2025 Babe Ruth League/Cal Ripken Division World Series Tournament Trail
The 8u NorCal State All-Stars Tournament will be held in Laguna of Elk Grove, CA from June 14th through June 20th, 2025*. The champions will move on to the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament taking place in Galt, CA starting on July 13th.
The 9u NorCal State All-Stars Tournament will be held in Elk Grove, CA from June 14th through the 20th, 2025*. The champions will move on to the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament taking place in Kingsburg, CA starting on July 13th.
The 10u NorCal State All-Stars Tournament will be held in Galt, CA from June 21st through the 27th, 2025*. The champions will move on to the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament taking place in Laguna of Elk Grove, CA starting on July 13th. The winners will move on to the World Series in Vincennes, IN, from August 7th through the 16th.

Altamonte Baseball Academy 12U All-Stars Return To Defend National Title At 2025 Cal Ripken World Series
The Altamonte Baseball Academy (ABA) 12U All-Star team is once again making headlines as they head to Branson, Missouri, to compete in the 2025 Cal Ripken 12/70 World Series, kicking off August 8.
This marks the team’s fourth consecutive appearance on one of youth baseball’s biggest stages, a rare achievement that highlights the team’s exceptional talent and unwavering dedication. Fresh off their championship win at the 2024 Cal Ripken 11U World Series, the squad now steps up to the 12U division, ready to defend their title and showcase their elite skills against the country’s best.
Led by Manager Ken Kelly and Coaches Justin Harris, Steve Iannini and Kevin Stephenson, this extraordinary team has consistently finished among the top three in the nation each year. Their combination of discipline, sportsmanship and high-level performance has turned the Altamonte Baseball Academy into a recognized force in youth baseball across the country.

Former SL Star named to All-ACC Second Team
South Lexington’s own Sam Tackett was recently named to the 2025 All Atlantic Coast Conference Second Team. The Virginia Tech Hokie’s outfielder completed his standout Redshirt Senior season ranked among the leading ACC hitters in home runs with 14, batting .311 with 60 hits, 10 doubles, 43 runs, 44 RBI and 12 stolen bases.
During his time at South Lexington, Sammy—as he was known then—played under Manager Carl Peel for the Major League White Sox team from 2012 through 2015. Tackett played key roles on two standout SL All-Star teams: the 2013 10-year-old squad that finished second in the Cal Ripken World Series in Ocala, Florida, and the 2015 12-year-old team that made a Final Four run at the World Series in Monticello, Arkansas.
A few highlights from Sam’s final season at Virginia Tech include a 499-foot home run, a home run against Louisville, and a SportsCenter Top 10 defensive play. Each can be viewed at:
