Street Fighter League

SFL
) is a seasonal
Street Fighter
team competition organized by Capcom.
The series began in 2019 as a successor of the RAGE Street Fighter V All-Star League, initially exclusive to Japan in partnership with RAGE Esports.

Professional players drafted 2 other competitors through auditioning programs to form 3v3 teams, acquring points during the season to qualify for a final playoffs event. Capcom USA followed a similar format when creating Street Fighter League US, in addition to giving teams an opportunity to prevent their opponents from choosing specific characters by introducing character bans.

The series started to focus more on top-level competition in subsequent seasons, shifting away from including amateur players in the teams. Capcom Japan eventually added an additional player to every team, removed the character bans and introduced a new rule: For every team match, a "Home Team" and an "Away Team" are designated, where Home Teams gain the distinct advantage of knowing the player order of the Away Team beforehand, allowing them to choose the

The Street Fighter League in 2022 has reached its final stage!
Alongside the Capcom Cup IX, this tournament is going to be the culmination of an entire year’s worth of Leagues. While a little smaller than the main cup, the Street Fighter League World Championship is a fun event with a different approach to competitive fighting.
While most Street Fighter tournaments are one-v-one, the League takes a fresh approach. It’s a team-based game. Squads of players from esports orgs are fielded in the League and this final World Championship is the culmination of the year’s long event. This is how it works, how you can watch and more.

How Does the Street Fighter League World Championship Work?
Street Fighter League: World Championship 2024 took place in the Ryogoku Kokugikan Arena in Tokyo, Japan on March 10
th
. Here the Champions from SFL US, Europe and Japan competed for the title of SFL World Champion in front of a large, energetic crowd. Representing their regions was Punk’s Team FLYQUEST from the US, Phenom’s NINJAS IN PYJAMAS from Europe, and Gachikun’s GOOD 8 SQUAD. Only one of these teams would earn the title of SFL World Champions, and the bragging rights that come along with it.
Up for grabs was a $150,000 prize pool with $80,000 going to the winner, $40,000 to second place and $30,000 to third place. As if the accolades and the prize money were not enough, the members of the winning team would also earn qualifying spots to Capcom Cup XII next year.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STRUCTURE
The SFL World Championship 2024 consisted of two stages: a Group Stage and a Final Stage. The Group Stage was a round robin format with each team playing two matches, with one match as the home team and one as the away team. The scoring format for each Team Battle was the same as the regular season. The teams were ranked first by wins and losses
