Camping World CEO defiant amid lawsuit over huge American flag: 'The flag will not come down'
The CEO of Camping World, a national RV dealer with stores in 200-plus locations, is facing a lawsuit by another city over its massive American flag that waves outside a dealership.
City leaders in Greenville, North Carolina, voted 4-2 last week to initiate legal action to take down the American flag at a Camping World dealership. The vote came amid another lawsuit filed by the city of Sevierville, Tennessee.
"Not when they sue, not when I lose, not if they take me to jail, the flag is not coming down," Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis said last week after the city council in Greenville voted to authorize the filing of civil action against the company, WITN reported. "While I respect the city council’s position and while I understand they have the right to sue me, and they’re going to and I understand I have the right to defend myself, the flag is never coming down."

This is true, and the facts are correct. I had looked at this 2022 Thor Freedom Traveler M30 motorhome that sat on a Ford Commercial Vehicle chassis at the beginning of November 2023. The reason I did not buy it at that time is because there were damages inside. The bathroom door needed to be hung, the radio was missing, there were 3 small holes in the floor, and the driver seat left armrest was broken. The mileage at that time was 5662 miles. On November 29th 2023, I purchased a 2022 Thor Freedom Traveler M30 motorhome, with the VIN number 1F65F5DN5M0A11639, from Camping World, Augusta GA. At no time was I offered the opportunity to test drive this motorhome, and had I done a test drive, I would not have made the purchase. Before I got off the Camping World lot, I notice
Every year, thousands of small-business owners apply to be on "The Profit," the popular CNBC reality show in which Marcus Lemonis tries to save struggling companies. Now lawyers are hoping for another rush—this time to join a lawsuit against Lemonis and Camping World Holdings, his Lincolnshire-based RV company.
Two investors have sued Camping World, a national chain of RV dealerships, and Lemonis, its chairman and CEO. The complaints allege Camping World misrepresented its financials and sold its stock at inflated prices.
The lawsuits, both of which seek class-action status, have ignited a flurry of activity among firms that specialize in class-action securities claims. At least 10 law firms across the country are seeking Camping World investors to join the litigation.
The first lawsuit, filed in federal court in Chicago by investor David Ronge on Oct. 19, names as defendants Camping World Holdings, Lemonis, CFO and Secretary Thomas Wolfe, President Brent Moody, director Stephen Adams and New York-based private-equity firm Crestview Partners II and Crestview Advisors. It seeks class-action status on behalf of people who purchased Camping World stock between March 8, 201
Oregon AG Announces Settlement with RV Dealer Camping World
Company will pay more than $3 million to refund impacted customers
Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum announced today a $3.5 million settlement with Camping World, a national dealer of recreational vehicles, or RVs, with multiple locations in Oregon. This result resolves a multi-year consumer protection investigation by the Oregon Department of Justice ( DOJ) Civil Recovery Section.
“The settlement orders Camping World to return $3 million in refunds to affected customers. Our investigation found that Camping World would advertise a heavily discounted “Dare to Compare” price. During negotiations, Camping World would claw back its purported discount by double charging consumers for freight and prep charges that had already been included in the advertised price,” AG Rosenblum said. “This is not how Oregonians expect or deserve to be treated!”
Under the terms of the agreement, of the $3.5 million Camping World will be required to pay the state, $3 million will be used to refund certain consumers that purchased an RV from Camping World between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2018 and who paid more th
