Thrust Damage
is one of the Damage Types in
Dark Souls 2
. It is one of the seven main Damage Types and belongs to the Physical Damage category. Damage Types are a major part of the calculation that determines how much damage is dealt in Combat and are affected by many factors including your equipment, spells and temporary buffs.

Dark Souls 2 Thrust Damage Guide

Thrust Damage
is a type of Physical Damage dealt by both players and enemies alike. Thrust Damage is physical damage that differs from Strike Damage or Slash Damage types. Thrust Damage is often effective against most unarmored enemies and beetles.

All Physical Damage can be increased with any variant of the Ring of Blades, and all incoming Physical Damage can be reduced by any variant of the Ring of Steel Protection, armor, and blocking. The Old Leo Ring strengthens thrust weapon counter attacks.

In New World, while your stats and attributes along with your overall build do contribute to your performance, that doesn’t always help to stay effective.

There is a proper mechanism in place. Damage is classified by type, with each type dealing more damage to a specific enemy while being immune to the others.

You might have an overly efficient DPS build that does a lot of damage, but if the variables are not modified correctly to match with different opponents you face, you won’t be able to do much.

Largely the damage types are classified into 2 types

Elemental Damage

You’ll find three Physical and six Elemental damage types in New World.

New World Damage Types Guide

New World

is a massively multiplayer online game that allows players to build and survive while battling against NPCs and other players. It's also a big hit.
New World
is still one the most played games on Steam after several weeks.

One thing all these players might not have looked into yet is how different types of damage in
New World
function, being so busy with crafting, PvP, and other diversions common on Aeternum. Talking about types of damage might feel strange in a game with no classes and a unique idea of what constitutes "magic" but we've put together a guide anyway.

Updated on December 21, 2021, by Kristy Ambrose:
New World has been in circulation for a few months now, and it's been an exciting ride with some dizzying highs and lows. There have been some tweaks to the game that include more New World damage types with both old and new weapons, along with some changes to crafting and gameplay mechanics to reflect the changes. That some updates have made it necessary to update our original guide about damage types in New World.

Here’s a small simplification

GURPS

could make: Replace the
two
damage scores (thrust and swing) attached to ST with
one
damage score.

Huh? You mean do away with

GURPS

’ distinctive difference between a weapon’s swing and thrust damage scores?

No, nothing of the sort! That thrust-vs-swing distinction adds fun considerations to the choice and use of weapons. It’s one of my favorite features of the game’s combat system, right up there with defense rolls. Let’s keep it!

But I think the game could remove the small complication of two damage scores if it wanted – not from combat, but from character stats.

I’ve made mention of this somewhere in the past, have had a few conversations, and have seen some mentions (and misunderstandings) of it here and there. But I think I’ve yet to bore site visitors with the idea. For the curious and just for the giggles, let me lay out here what I mean by doing away with two character stats for damage, in the form of responses to imaginary questions. (Note: Any weapon stats use newer values from

Low-Tech

and

DFRPG

, not

Basic Set

.)

“Sigh. So what’s the big id
