They aren’t, no, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they cannot reproduce. There are plenty of unnatural races that can in fantasy.
They could be sterile though. Who knows?

I’d imagine they weren’t created with an affinity for uh monkey business at all. I don’t think sterility would come into play.
