Top 20 ugliest language in the world
The World's most beautiful/ugly language ?
PersonallyI think, and I've studied languages and accents all my life, that sometimes people can be biased in perception perhaps because of rivalries or because the language in question is so different from their own.. But I also think there's a general perception of what makes a language beautiful.. such as musicality, consonants vs. vowels, fluidity, sensuality, expressiveness, ect.. anyway..
Here's one..
(most beautifull)
Zulu
..
Zulu must rank among the world's most beautiful languages, sounds like somewhere between
Italian
and
Swahili
, also two very beautiful languages.. Swahili having a more noticeable Hindi influence.
Other beautiful languages are
Portuguese
(especially
Brazilian Portuguese
).. and I think they know it too by some of the other threads in here.
Galego
is also very melodic and is related to portuguese, but It is less nasal and shares a somewhat castillian soberness and clarity.
Argentine Spanish
is also very beautifull, soft, charming and very musical, sometimes to a fault,.. It is the opposite of Castillian which I find very dry, sober as well as a bit harsh (same goes f

I Asked 100 Strangers on The Internet “What Is the World’s Most Beautiful Language?” And This Is What They Said
As a professional language instructor, people’s attitudes and perceptions in regard to languages are extremely important to me. For this reason, I went on the website chatroulette.com and asked 100 strangers a few questions. I am well aware that this is not a scholarly study that provides a true reflection of the world’s population; after all, this is just using one website full of people who speak English and are willing to answer a stranger’s questions on live video—not to mention that a sample size of 100 is way too small. Nevertheless, this survey was a lot of fun to carry out and it did help me draw a few conclusions. I hope that it provides something valuable to you as well.
1.The Survey
The questions were:
-Where are you from?
This question is easy for many to answer, but it does have different meanings for different people. I tried to make sure that the person answered with the best definition that matched their identity.
-Where do you live?
This question is as relevant as the first since the place where you live does have an

Ugliest is by far Cantonese (sounds like people cursing at each other) followed by Danish (sounds like German and Swedish had a messed up child), Welsh (sounds like people chocking on potatoes), Mandarin (the "sh", "dzh" and "sch" sounds drive me crazy), and Haitian Creole (sounds like the speaker is performing exorcism).
Prettiest is Spanish, Jamaican English, Italian, Swedish, Thai (more cute than beautiful but I still love the sound of it), and Zulu. Spanish is particularly beautiful imo, the word for rainfall is "pluviosidad". Even disgrace sounds good in Spanish, "verguenza".

In more modern times, Google Translate has highlighted French as the language of love, reporting that it is the most frequently used European language for translating romantic expressions. Indeed, “je t’aime” came second only to “bonjour” in terms of French translation requests.
Overall, 34 of the top 1,000 most translated French phrases were about love. That was followed by Spanish, with 33 out of 1,000 phrases relating to love, while Russian, Italian and German brought up the ranks.
